Lumino
Tackling an under-served area of health with digital innovation
Seren is Lumino’s clinically-grounded therapeutic mobile platform for menopause. Focused on translating evidence-based psychological interventions (CBT) into accessible, scalable digital care, Seren will offer thousands of women much needed support with menopause symptoms. We built the app that puts help in the hands of those who need it.

The challenge
While awareness of menopause symptoms has increased in recent years, practical help is still behind where it needs to be, with inconsistent support offered across the UK.
Menopause affects ~13 million women in the UK, yet access to structured, evidence-based support is extremely limited. The impact on the individual, their loved ones and even the economy cannot be underplayed, yet menopause has continually been overlooked by policy makers.
Seren delivers a structured CBT-based programme designed specifically for menopause. This combines psychoeducation, cognitive and behavioural techniques, and support for sleep and emotional wellbeing. Seren has been designed to meet clinical, regulatory and UX standards.
Our response
We worked with the team at Lumino to bring the Seren app to life, following their successful funding input from NIHR, Innovate UK, the Scottish Government and Bayer.
User testing is essential to piloting the app. Seren will soon be piloted across multiple NHS sites so that robust real-world evidence of the app in action can be gathered. From here, Seren will move towards clinical trials and NICE-aligned evidence pathways while the team continues to work on product development- optimising to improve engagement, outcomes and scalability.
Seren represents a new generation of healthtech, combining clinical evidence, public sector backing, and real-world NHS deployment to address one of the most overlooked areas in healthcare.

The impact
Our investment accelerated the launch of HeyFlow’s employee insight platform, already used by progressive employers. It gives organisations clear insights into women’s experiences at work, helping leaders take action, retain and promote talent, and make measurable progress on equality, inclusion and performance.
